Studying and Reading

Nieuwe Veste offers various comfortable study spots. Are you studying for exams or working on your thesis? We've got you covered! 
Nieuwe Veste provides free WIFI, computer stations, and printers for your use.

In addition, you'll also enjoy a 10% discount at our café BOMEN with your student card. 

Library
Students up to 26 years old receive a €15,- discount on our library memberships by showing a student card.

For just €20,- per year, you can get a 'Lekker Lezen' membership. Want to get more benefits with your library card? Opt for an 'Optimaal Genieten' membership for €27,50 per year.

With your library membership you read from our broad collection and access our online databases, e-books, magazines and online coursus. 


 

Create & Do

The Makersbase is Breda's creative workshop based on a "Pay What You Want" principle. Here, you can bring your creative, technical, or industrial ideas to life using modern machines such as a laser cutter, vinyl plotter, or 3D printer. No subscription, membership, or hefty wallet required.
Join the Maker Movement!

Especially for Craft and Tech enthusiasts, we host the Craft Community and Tech Community:

Craft community
Every Wednesday from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Every week, you can visit the Makerbase to develop your craft skills. Together with other crafters, you'll work on your own projects. Marjan van der Heijden, also known as MissMantis Makers, will guide you, but you'll also learn from each other. You can work with sewing machines, overlockers, punch machines, lasers, 3D printers, and of course, your own hands. We provide materials and equipment, but feel free to bring your own stuff too.

Tech community
Every Thursday from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Every week, an enthusiastic group explores various techniques or challenges, with experimentation at the core.

Course offerings for students
Nieuwe Veste offers a variety of courses for students. Want to meet new people with similar interests? Learn something new or further develop yourself?

Pssst! Student pass holders (aged 21 to 24 years old) receive a 10% discount for music lessons at Nieuwe Veste.
